Jonathan Toth from Hoth

Jonathan Getzschman was born in Omaha, Nebraska on July 26, 1974. Guided by Montessori School system ways of the west, he was reading by three years old but heading toward an attention deficit quest. Although poetry played a part of passion from the second grade, by seven he was more adept at finding ways to misbehave, which slowly, he began to tame and train, tending to his emotions became an easy way to gain entrance to the stage. Operas like "Tosca" and "Falstaff" were the rage, "The Sound of Music" and "Oliver" were musicals in which he engaged, and of course there were plays to make acting skills nimbler, like "Azania, Azania" and "The Merry Wives of Windsor..." But these brief brushes with the spotlight can't be compared to candles when he handled the question: why don't skateboarders walk right? His lot in life quickly became a search for physical agility and not strife, adrenaline seeking, a Christian Scientist with a skatekey and a copyright, to proclaim Life to be lived to the fullest with no fear, so snowboarding came next, and he was competing within a couple of years. It was here he learned his metaphor, from a force he had been mentored, a star wars child living in a land of ice, he was transformed into better lore:

Jonathan Toth from Hoth in the place to be, certified as superior emcee, was granted his credentials in 1993. Two years later he began mixing freestyles with T.H.C. After a lot of writing, skateboarding and apathy, as well as years figuring out many of his insecurities, Jonathan graduated from The Principia with bachelor’s degrees in mass communication (sound and video) and history (teaching.) Since then, it’s been mostly listening and lecturing, awaiting divine inspiration to lead him to his destiny, affording never to take a Mind vacation, endeavoring in Good--when this idea came-a-questioning: Why don't you do this? (what?) You know your dream: to be the most open, to allow entry into God's scene, to manifest creation in the comfort of cold facts--you know how to weave webs with words and musical tracks--so before you make excuses and your vision becomes useless, DO THIS! and your personal legend will unfold intact. There's just one catch, no matter who sneers or who laughs, pay them no Mind, their only mission is to distract.

So suddenly, before the summer of 2001, a surge of adventure, purpose and soul filled his senses with the drum. Ability in theory became instilled clearly within a piece that could only be initiated by Good awaking early. Samples sounded off to be heard and collected, words were presented in patterns that as of yet were uninvented, soon to be respected by artists and eccentrics, in the final form of an unprecedented CD with a 12" record: Brainwashing: The Art of Hip-hopera, by some, considered a bit too eclectic, but thoroughly enjoyed by a an overwhelming percentage, a happening in history--timeless with a message--"the only risk is not taking one," and that just about said it.

Jonathan is currently the owner of College Roofers (St. Louis, MO) and a rapper/producer in The Frozen Food Section, an independent record company operating within The Frozen Food Foundation (where he is the CEO), a non-for-profit organization dedicated to education and art. He is looking for the right record company to distribute this music around the world for everyone to enjoy and experience. This project will end up funding "The Cooler"--a smoke free/alcohol free hip-hop club with skateboard park and headquarters/recording studio for The Frozen Food Foundation--all proceeds go to charity.
